Ask the Dietitian is a great way to ask quick questions or get basic nutrition information. The dietitian will determine if the question can be addressed through an email response or if a formal one on one nutrition appointment with the dietitian at the UA Student Health Center is more appropriate. Please e-mail nutrition@ua.edu to Ask the Dietitian!

Additional objectives for each session also include participants being able to identify credible nutrition resources on the internet and becoming a critical consumer of health messaging on social media and other sites. Presentations can be requested.
Eating Disorders
Though thought to be a simple issue of eating and exercise issues, eating disorders are a serious and potentially life threatening condition that affect a person’s emotional, psychological, and physical health. Eating disorders are treated with a team approach of a physician, therapist, registered dietitian, and can also involve other practitioners such as a family therapist or psychiatrist, as needed.
