Alabama Federal Credit Union is sponsoring three UA students to earn a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor designation through the Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCCP) to serve as Peer Financial Coaches on campus. The application opens Feb. 12 and closes March 13.
Certification Process
The certification process begins in mid-June and runs through mid-September. It includes self-paced study, live education webinars held every other week, and concludes with a virtual exam.
Who Should Apply?
Students who will have junior standing during the 2026–2027 academic year are encouraged to apply.
Coaching Requirements
Coaching will begin in Fall 2026. Students are required to commit to three semesters, working 20–25 hours per semester. Coaching topics include financial goal setting, basic needs support and planning for life after college.
