Wellness Week 2025

The Department of Health Promotion & Wellness is excited to announce the tenth annual Wellness Week. There will be a series of events to promote health and well-being centered around the Alabama Model from Sept. 15-19. Come join these signature events and learn about resources in your community to help enhance your well-being! 

Monday, Sept. 15 

SGA Tabling Session with the Office of General Education 

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
Crimson Promenade 

Interested in shaping your academic experience at UA? Swing by the Student Center Promenade to connect with the University Administrators driving the development of UA’s new core curriculum and discover how it can open doors for your future. You’ll also learn about Pathways—a special additional accreditation you can earn to proudly display on your diploma. 

Lunch & Learn – Do Money Differently to Achieve a Life You Deserve

Bring your lunch & learn how to Do Money Differently! Join Young Money University founder, author, coach, and financial success speaker Todd Romer delivers his high energy presentation to help you: 

  • Dream differently by learning how to overcome limiting beliefs you likely have about money and yourself. 
  • Reduce financial stress, increase financial confidence, and feel more in control by learning to use automation in your financial life and by spending money differently. 
  • Begin investing like the wealthy do with a little money to start so you can create significant wealth over time. It’s not scary, and Todd will show you that the wealthy are NOT smarter than you. 
  • Break the chains of just getting by to creating a meaningful WHY for your life.

Career Fair Crash Course

Whether it’s your first time attending a career fair or you simply want a refresher, the Career Fair Crash Course will help you make the most of your experience. We’ll cover topics like how to prepare for the career fair, what to wear, how to introduce yourself, and steps for successfully following up with recruiters. This workshop will also be available via Zoom; please register on Handshake to receive the Zoom link.

Tuesday, Sept. 16 

Rollin’ Through the Aisles Grocery Store Tour 

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. 
Publix Grocery on The Strip 

Join registered dietitians Raenah Campbell from Bama Dining and Sheena Gregg from UA Health Promotion & Wellness for a grocery store tour of Publix. Attendees will learn how to pick the best products and produce for your budget and nutrition needs.  

CSL Carnival of Events 

10 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
UA Student Center Lawn 

CSL student engagement teams tabling and engaging with UA students to share how students can engage with any of the teams to find out how they can participate in serving while on campus at Alabama. The CSL will also welcome local Tuscaloosa Community Partners to table and educate students on how UA students can immediately volunteer with any of these community nonprofits in Tuscaloosa and make a difference. 

Wednesday, Sept. 17 

Student Health Fair 

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 
UA Student Center Plaza 

Please join Health Promotion & Wellness, campus partners, and community partners for the fall Student Health Fair. Students will learn about the various health and wellness services offered on campus and within the Tuscaloosa community. Come get your picture made with Big Al from 11:15-12:00.  The first 200 students will receive a free t-shirt! 

Free HIV Testing 

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 
UA Student Center Room 2200C 

Confidential and private testing is provided by the Alabama Department of Public Health. In addition to the featured HIV testing, students will also have the opportunity for rapid syphilis testing and hepatitis C testing.

General Interest & Business Fair 

10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 
Coleman Coliseum 

This is the perfect opportunity to network with employers and to learn more about the opportunities they have to offer! All years and all majors are encouraged to attend. Professional dress is preferred. 

Creed, Coffee, and Community 

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
Student Center Great Hall 

Join the Student Government Association and the Office of Student Conduct for a community building coffee hour in the Student Center Great Hall, celebrating the third line of the Capstone Creed: “Embrace and uphold the dignity of all.”

Thursday, Sept. 18 

UA Flu Blast Clinic 

9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
Northeast section of the Quad 

Join Health Promotion & Wellness, the Student Health Center, and the College of Nursing to get your flu shot on Thursday, September 18th! The flu shot clinic will be located on the Northeast section of the Quad and will be operating from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. From 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, there will be a giveaway bundle available that includes a football shaker, UA themed stadium cup, and Liquid IV.  Grab some snacks and see Big Al! You don’t want to miss this event! 

Technical & Engineering Fair

Recovery Night

Join the Collegiate Recovery Community for Recovery Night this semester. During a recovery speaker meeting, one member of the local Tuscaloosa recovery community shares their personal story of overcoming addiction. Come listen to others and learn about their experience, strength and hope. Sponsored by Collegiate Recovery and Intervention Services.

Talk Saves Lives

Talk Saves LivesTM is a standardized, peer led, suicide prevention and awareness program provided by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). According to the AFSP, TSL “provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and what they can do in their communities to save lives. Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe”.

Welcome to the UP Drive-In Movie! Join us to watch Anyone But You! Bring your car with all your friends, get some popcorn, and relax! No car? No worries!
